66% of logistics pros say talent quality — not cost — is the #1 factor in choosing a nearshore partner. Rapido's integration model explains why that's the right question to be asking.
Plus, a carrier pleading guilty to mob money laundering while still FMCSA-active, Iran's first post-ceasefire attack and what it means for diesel surcharges, FedEx Freight's first earnings as a standalone company, and more in today's newsletter.
Freight brokers are measuring their inboxes wrong. Most inbound email is monitoring, not work. And the longtail categories that look like noise are costing real margin. Here's how to audit what's actually in your inbox, and why it matters in 2026's margin-first market.
Last week, the FreightCaviar team was at the TIA Capital Ideas Conference in San Antonio. If you’re not familiar, TIA is the main association for freight brokers and 3PLs. They also advocate on behalf of brokers in D.C. and put on one of the best events in the industry.
The event kicked off with TIA’s second annual Media Day on Wednesday, April 9.
We were there for the key announcements, product launches, and behind-the-scenes conversations.
Here’s what stood out—especially for brokers keeping an eye on freight tech.

The Common Thread: Everyone’s Betting on AI
It wasn’t just that every company had AI—it was what their AI actually did that mattered.
Most tools claimed to save time, reduce risk, and automate tasks.
But a few stood out by showing how their products work in the real world.
FreightCaviar Sponsors Doing Big Things
David Bell on the left. Me in the middle. Bob Kruz on the right. From building a 10,000-person freight army to launching an AI voice tool—David’s story is wild. Interview drops Monday.
CloneOps: CloneOps launched its AI platform for overloaded ops teams. One standout feature is Voice ID tech that flags suspicious callers before a load gets stolen.
CEO David Bell said they’re building a voice database of known scammers to help stop fraud before it happens.
“This platform had to solve real problems—not just look good in a demo.”
Fleetworks presenting at TIA Media Day.
FleetWorks: FleetWorks rolled out a multilingual AI assistant that replaces routine phone and email communication. No more copy-pasting from Google Translate. The system automates common updates, speaking directly with carriers in their preferred language.
We interviewed Paul Singer, their CEO & Co-Founder, last August:
Michael Schember, CEO of FreightClaims.com, speaking on stage at TIA Media Day.
FreightClaims.com: Claims have always been a mess. FreightClaims is using machine learning to turn them into a streamlined workflow. It’s the kind of tool that replaces hours of back-and-forth and makes the process easier for everyone involved.
Check out our previous article on FreightClaims.com here:
Greenscreens.ai: Greenscreens just launched Intuition, an AI tool that predicts rates up to 12 months out. It’s designed for brokers quoting contract freight and building long-term pricing strategies.
The product comes right after Greenscreens was acquired by Triumph Capital.
Watch this video to see the latest update from Highway.
Highway: Highway is moving beyond carrier identity and into load-level visibility. Two new features launched:
Load Lock+: Flags risky shipments in real time using ELD data.
Exclusion Intel: Surfaces hidden insurance gaps so you’re not blindsided during claims.
Example: KCH Transportation flagged a stolen load in minutes after a truck pinged in the wrong state. That’s what Highway is building toward.
We just interviewed Michael Caney, CCO at Highway, two weeks ago:
HappyRobot: HappyRobot unveiledBridge, a centralized “control panel” that connects your teams, tools, and operations. It’s part Slack, part CRM, and part execution hub.
You can think of it as the glue for your brokerage’s daily workflows.
We interviewed the founders (and brothers) in November:
OTR unveiled their OTRintelligence platform at TIA Media Day.
OTR Solutions: OTR announcedOTR 365, a 24/7 payment system that eliminates cutoff clocks. Factoring payments can now hit any bank account within minutes—even on weekends.
Built on years of invoice data, their system is learning across both broker and carrier platforms to speed things up.
TrueNorth: VP Michael Davidian unveiled Loadie, an AI dispatcher that auto-matches loads with vetted carriers based on compliance, history, and preferences.
Carriers don’t need to log into anything—they just call in, and Loadie logs everything: location, equipment, preferred lanes. Brokers get real-time updates without needing a person to answer every check-in.
CtrlChain is a cost-effective solution that helps carriers secure more contract freight with reliable shipper companies. The company emphasizes stable income for carriers by fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships between carriers and shippers.
CtrlChain system simplifies the day-to-day tasks of fleet owners and operators by digitizing and automating manual tasks such as managing delivery information, updating customers, and providing PODs. It replaces spreadsheets, emails, phone calls, and post-it notes by offering a single platform for planning, executing, and receiving payments for deliveries.
Lean Solutions launched StudioQ with a focus on onboarding and visibility.
McLeod Software rolled out MPact.RespondAI to organize email chaos.
Rose Rocket released Ted, its take on an AI agent to reduce manual entry.
