Freight brokers are measuring their inboxes wrong. Most inbound email is monitoring, not work. And the longtail categories that look like noise are costing real margin. Here's how to audit what's actually in your inbox, and why it matters in 2026's margin-first market.
It seems like every day the freight industry in the US hears of a new scam or fraud involving overseas dispatchers.
Overseas scammers always find new, creative ways of defrauding our industry, and this time is no different.
We are currently getting insider information from a freight broker who is dealing with this situation. He told us:
"Quick details: A carrier sold their MC, someone (overseas is my guess) bought it, put together an almost Ocean's 11-style bank heist, and hit over a dozen and counting brokers. They are currently in possession of over two dozen loads, holding them hostage and demanding money before delivery is made."
The freight broker has asked us to remain anonymous at the moment but will send us more information as he has it.
The MCs involved are Agility Express (MC 1089634) and ZAP Transportation (MC 434847). Here are the key details:
Coordinated Attack: Over a span of 3-5 days, they targeted more than a dozen freight brokers, including major names.
Hostage Loads: The scammers hijacked over two dozen loads, holding them hostage and demanding ransom payments before agreeing to deliver the goods.
Massive Financial Impact: Millions of dollars worth of freight are currently unaccounted for, causing significant financial distress to the affected brokers.
The Bannon Report, a social media page that helps inform the industry of fraudulent activities, posted yesterday the following:
In the comment section, David Pryor made the connection between ZAP Transportation and Agility Express.
